Coming along

It has been almost three months since the first dig of our new house. I would guess that the house is about 65-70% done. The excitement builds with each new thing finished every day: some light fixtures put in, garage stairs built, wood trim stained, varnished and sanded. Some days it is hard to have patience. I went to a store today and saw a pot of mums. I thought to myself that they would look lovely on my front steps. Then I realized I couldn't buy them just yet. The building of the house isn't the only thing that amazes me. The fact that it will be MY house just blows me away. What did I do to win such a prize? Why do I get a new house when others live in cardboard boxes? GRACE is all that comes to mind. I don't deserve this house. It is just another reminder from God that He gives us what we don't deserve. I am so very very grateful for this new home. I pray and desire to use it for His glory. Our new year of school is also progressing. All the children, though not with great enthusiasm, but with great dedication have started the year off strong. Nate wasn't sure what kindergarten would be like, but he has adjusted to the schedule and seems to like his classes. Bethany is sad to not have any playmates in the morning, but tries to join in Nate's classes when she can. Zach is a self-motivated student. I am so pleased with his progress so far. He really dedicates himself and gets his work done diligently. Danielle and Alex have started doing more subjects this year by themselves. I go over all their work and talk through the lesson, but they are the ones doing most of the work. It has been a good practice for them in time management. All of the children are doing a Christian based State History course. I think it is their favorite subject. William Penn was quite a witness for Christ! A new addition to our school year is joining a co-op. About 6 other families are joining together to provide classes for our children. I will be teaching 2-5 graders Land Animals by Apologia. I am looking forward to it! Alex and Zach will be in my class. Danielle will be taking Human Anatomy by Apologia, a writing course, speech, photography, computer (by Luke!). Alex will also have a writing course, photography. Zach and Nate have other classes, too. So things move along. It is an adventure to see each Step God has for us.
